Company Overview
Docs In Progress is a non-profit organization based in Silver Spring, MD which gives individuals the tools to tell stories through documentary film to educate, inspire, and transform the way people view the world. We do this by offering an array of programs and services aimed at supporting aspiring and experienced documentary filmmakers and the broader community.
By sharing true-life stories, we can begin to understand one another - and how we might work together to improve our world. Our workshops, artist programs, and free public screenings provide opportunities for diverse voices to incubate their ideas and share them with enthusiastic audiences. We offer services to filmmakers at all levels, from middle school students just learning to express themselves, to retirees with a lifetime of stories to share. Beginners' classes teach the fundamentals while fellowships, residencies, and work-in-progress screenings help intermediate and professional filmmakers develop their craft.
