Company Overview
Delaware Public Media is the first and only public media news service founded in Delaware and dedicated to covering the unique issues, events, personalities, and culture of Delaware.Delaware Public Media presents high-quality statewide news in a rich combination of audio, video, and text, available on air at WDDE 91.1 FM, WMPH 91.7 FM, and online at WDDE.org.
As an NPR member station, Delaware Public Media features the best in national and international news programming from NPR and other high-quality sources as well as Delaware news from our own Delaware Public Media News staff headquartered in Dover.
At the delawarepublic.org home page you’ll find multimedia coverage of Delaware, including links to 24/7 live streaming audio coverage, archived stories from WDDE and its online predecessor, DFM News, and timely special events coverage from political debates to concerts.
Company History
We started as the online only news organization Delaware First Media in 2010. WDDE-FM began broadcasting on August 17, 2012, from our studio and offices on the Delaware State University campus in Dover. We are proud to operate in a unique collaboration with Delaware State University and the University of Delaware. WMPH-FM joined Delaware Public Media in airing morning and afternoon drive in April 2014, extending our reach into Wilmington.
